Newbie interested in 1ZZ and 2ZZ mapping with ECUMaster

Post by shnazzle » Sun Jan 28, 2018 6:17 pm

Currently have two setups, both on Toyota 1zz-fe blocks; one turbo and one N/A.
Interested in moving from UniChip Q and eManage to ECUMaster for both.

Have a few questions of course!

What do you need to now about the 1ZZ Emu Setup ????
1zz Turbo is a nice Setup for MR2 W3 440HP ;)

Few initial questions are the obvious;
- full support for vvti angle control? Not just on/off
- idle air control? With trigger for A/C?
- what is boost control like? Hard to find any details on it. Possible by gear? Overboost protection and what kind?
- closed loop fuel control via WB I assume.
- DOes it support NTK wideband? Documentation says LSU 4.2 and another source says LSU 4.9. WHich?
- Happy to run in parallel with stock ecu?
- Can it combine MAF/MAP for timing/fueling model?

- Any previous experience on 1ZZ for ECUMaster?
- Base maps?

For Det3 (for my N/A):
- Fuel implant mode is very interesting. Big issue I have now is closed loop fuel control (as everybody does with piggyback) so this would solve it, if it works on 1zz.

Few initial questions are the obvious;
- full support for vvti angle control? Yes full working VVTI Control works the same as 2JZ VVTI
- idle air control? You can use the Stock IAC or any other market
- With trigger for A/C? Stock A/C Buttom switch or analog Input / A/C Clutch to Aux
- what is boost control like? Hard to find any details on it. Possible by gear? Overboost protection and what kind?
- closed loop fuel control via WB I assume. Yes
- DOes it support NTK wideband? Only LSU 4.2 or 4.9 for Black or external Controller
- Happy to run in parallel with stock ecu? ?????!!!
- Can it combine MAF/MAP for timing/fueling model? NO Maf you can use Speed Density or Alpha N

Everthing you need to now you can find at the EMU Manual .

Had a good read of the manual and downloaded the software as well to see what's what.

Reason I asked about running parallel to stock ECU is to maintain some dash functionality, immobilizer and possibly OBD2 (not too fussed about the latter but I read on here that OBD2 was coming in an update?).
The coolant temp reading is a known problem area for the Toyota MR2 on standalone for example.

All my other questions were answered other than one;
I can see that you can trigger A/C clutch via the usual button. Obviously. But I couldn't find any option in the software for the idle air control to be triggered by the A/C clutch.
