I am working with an EJ255 motor with intake AVCS only.

I finally got some good crank triggering and what I think is good cam signals too.
But my log is showing tooth out of range. When the cams advance 20 degrees, my cam
angle in the log shows -400s depending on the settings I use in the trigger settings. I tried
various tooth offset and ranges but the cam angles are either zero or negative values.
Any ideas for me to try?

Things I have learned or checked.

The EJ255/EJ257 motor in this car with intake AVCS has the following:
1) VR sensor for the crank.
2) Two Hall style cam sensors.
3) 36-2-2-2 Which is a 36 tooth with 2 missing teeth from three different places on the crank gear.
4) Has a 4-1 style AVCS cam sensor source. 3 teeth one missing.
5) That the 36-2-2-2 style signal is converted to 12 tooth signal and doesn't use cam sync.

More soon as I kick around at this trying to get it to run right.

A few more things I learned that was not immediately obvious for variable cams.

6) The cam offset in the CAM#1 and CAM#2 menus can be used to correct your cam angles
after you get them to trigger correctly.

7) This one is probably obvious, but I then used the "min tooth" and "max tooth" in CAM#2 settings
to narrow down the trigger so that the cam position wasn't jumping all over the place.

8) As per tech support and my own experimentation, I have determined the proper triggers for
an EJ255 is VR sensor falling edge, 36-2-2-2. With Hall sensor, missing tooth, falling edge for the
secondary trigger. Finally, Hall sensor, Primary Trigger tooth range, with falling edge.


As can be seen in the screenshot how I adjusted the cam angles and DC duty to zero them and
at target angle 0%.
