BMW E30 M50B25 swap

Hi!

I just tested my EMU with an M50B25 BMW inline 6 cylinder Motor without Vanos.

I use the EMU standalone with FW 1.100

I had to adjust the settings for the Crank an Camshaft sensors, but finally it synchronised and i got sparks :)
I want to run full sequential, COPs and injectors.

The spark order is 1 - 5 - 3 - 6 - 2 - 4
But I have trouble to keep it starting and running. There's something wrong with the injector settings i guess.

For the injectors to squrit to a closed inlet valve I set the order as in the picture attached....

The inlet valves open arround 300°-240° BTDC

So with this injector phase it should squirt like this:

IGN: 1 - 5 - 3 - 6 - 2 - 4
INJ: 6 - 2 - 4 - 1 - 5 - 3
right?

But somehow the motor only starts with the option "batch all injectors" enabled. And then it runs very bad, stumbles and after few seconds it's off again.
Where is my mistake?

I believe you should make the injector settings equal to the firing order or 1 event before that. See link below

So you think the fuel has not enough time to vaporise?

I will try one ignition event earlier

Witch example is now right? If you have a firing order of 1;3;4;2 than injector phase of 1;3;4;2 make no sense.

Because

Phase1 => is Ignition event 1 (because ignition Event 1 is zylinder 1)
Phase2 => is Ignition event 4 (because ignition Event 4 is zylinder 2)
Phase3 => is Ignition event 2 (because ignition Event 3 is zylinder 3)
Phase4 => is Ignition event 3 (because ignition Event 2 is zylinder 4)

And if you want to bring it 180deg later the calculation of 1 to every injector phase is wrong too.

If it is wrong, Kuba please do three examples 1 for 0deg, 1 for 180deg and one for 360deg ( everytime + angle of trigger angle is clear )

My idea was to inject little before the inlet opens.
So arround 360° before ignition TDC.

The M50 fires every 120°. Therefore cylinder 1 inlet opens when cyl 6 is firing. And ignition event is 60° before spark in my config. So my config should inject 60° before inlet begins to open.

But maybe I didn't get it right, or it's just theorie differs from practice

EDIT:
Hi. I think it has not to do with the injector phase at all. The car won't start with stock ECU at all....So I think the injectors itself are bad.
I tested the EMU on my own car today with same engine and it runs perfect

Good to hear you're getting closer to solving it.
Could you tell me what injector phasing setting you're using at the moment?

I set up the boost to 0,6bar / 9psi

309hp, 432Nm

hi, i am looking for a base map for my US spec S50 ( basically 3.0L m50) where did you get the basemap for your m50TU? i haven't found any BMW base maps for my EMU standalone. Thanks!

First, I don't have a M50TU..mine is without Vanos.

Second, I didn't get a basemap either.
But I found this homepage very useful
